Album Review

Having cut his teeth in several bands since his late teens, and taken time away from writing music, Robbie returns with a sharpened sense of craft. His songwriting shows a maturity earned through years of experience, pairing thoughtful melodies with a natural instinct for hooks that linger long after the last note.

Moviegoer’s debut EP feels like the work of an artist who knows exactly what he wants to say and has the confidence to say it without overcomplicating things. It’s cinematic in scope yet intimate in delivery, each track unfolding like a scene from a film you can’t stop thinking about.

What makes this release even more impressive is its DIY spirit. Every member played their part, crafting the EP together with a shared vision and an attention to detail that gives the record its warmth and authenticity.

Across the five songs, there’s a balance of energy and restraint, moments that lift you out of your seat and moments that make you stop and take in the detail.

The clear standout here is The Lonely Adventures Of, an exceptional track that captures the heart of the EP. It’s spacious yet immediate, melodic yet grounded, carrying a sense of wistful optimism that makes it as replayable as it is memorable.

What makes this release shine is its cohesion. Every song belongs, yet each offers its own perspective, from driving rhythms to quieter, reflective turns. There’s no filler, no unnecessary detours, just five well-crafted chapters that make you want to hear the next part of the story.

If this is Moviegoer’s opening scene, the rest of the film is going to be worth watching.
